About the Position We are looking for a versatile and highly motivated Junior Consultant (or Consultant depending on experience) to join our growing and successful Water Services team, supporting our Environmental Planning consulting operations. This is a hybrid role, ideally based in Nottinghamshire, Leeds or London. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the planning, delivery, and management of various flood risk, drainage and climate projects for major planning and transactional clients. With support from experienced colleagues, you’ll work across all stages of project delivery, from scoping and scheduling to producing high-quality technical outputs. To be successful in this role, individuals must demonstrate: Exposure to or involvement in Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), due diligence reviews, drainage studies, and surface water/water quality assessments, gained through employment, education, or work placements. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including platforms such as QGIS and ArcGIS. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent the organisation professionally and build effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders. Understanding of the importance of health and safety practices in both office and site environments. Developing knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, standards, and technical guidance applicable to water and environmental disciplines. Awareness of site-based assessment techniques and the ability to interpret findings to inform project outcomes. Ability to contribute to the development of conceptual models and frameworks relevant to environmental and water-related disciplines. With appropriate supervision, capable of producing structured factual reports and developing interpretative outputs that address client needs and project objectives. Growing proficiency in using analytical tools and software to assess environmental data and support project decision-making. Holds a full UK driving licence, enabling travel to site locations as required. Required skillset and experience A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area is required, e.g. geography, or environmental science. A postgraduate qualification (e.g., MSc) or a discipline-specific certification is desirable. Candidates with demonstrable equivalent experience or qualifications will also be considered. Membership of a recognised professional body is preferred, e.g. CIWEM, ideally with active progress toward Chartered status. This position will be a hybrid role, with travel required to Antea Group offices or client premises in the United Kingdom.
