Project Engineer (Nuclear)
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to the site team, interpreting drawings, specifications, and design information.
* Quality Assurance: Assist in implementing and monitoring quality control procedures, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards and in accordance with project specifications and regulations.
* Programme Management: Support the Project Manager in developing, monitoring, and updating project programmes, identifying potential delays and proposing mitigation strategies.
* Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with subcontractors, ensuring their works align with the project programme and technical requirements.
* Health and Safety: Promote and adhere to strict health and safety standards on site, conducting regular inspections and contributing to risk assessments.
* Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during the construction process.
* Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for the Project Manager, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming activities.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Contribute to effective communication with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.
Skills and Experience:
* Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* 2:5 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on construction projects in the UK.
* Experience and understanding of passive fire protection and fire stopping systems is desirable but not required.
* Solid understanding of construction methods, techniques, and regulations.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Experience with project programming software (e.g., Primavera P6) is highly desirable.
* Strong analytical and problem:solving skills.
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast:paced environment.
* Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
* CSCS card holder (or equivalent).
* Holder or ability to obtain and hold SC (or above) clearance is required.
