The Role
You will be responsible for managing a high-volume housing disrepair caseload, working closely with fee earners and playing an integral role in the smooth running and future development of the costs function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation and drafting of bills of costs
* Drafting and responding to points of dispute
* Handling Part 8 proceedings
* Negotiating costs confidently and robustly
* Assisting fee earners with general costs-related enquiries
* Contributing to the development and improvement of internal processes and workflows
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience as a Costs Draftsman / Costs Lawyer
* Housing Disrepair (HDR) experience is desirable
* Comfortable managing a high-volume workload
* Strong technical knowledge across all aspects of costs
* Confident negotiator with a commercial mindset
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative
* Willing to be office-based and embedded within the wider team
