Join as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and change the lives of male and female service users with mental health problems. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assist in planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.
You will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities to measure progression and ensure effectiveness. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, be supported regionally, and have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.
Responsibilities
* To assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
* Support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
* To maintain adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.
Qualifications
* GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
* Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
* Verbal and written communication skills
Where You Will Be Working
Location: Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9FF
You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose-built 101-bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs. There are 6 wards for people with mental health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. The Wellesley Hospital, built in 2017, works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust, 2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to deliver the best possible environment for patients with mental health issues.
