Join to apply for the Cafe Team Member role at Tesco.
The café is opening and our team members help make every day a little better for our customers. As a Café Team Member, you’ll be involved in cooking, chatting with customers, and delivering great service while keeping equipment, tables and surfaces clean and tidy.
This is a lively, flexible role with opportunities for progression and a minimum guaranteed set of hours. We welcome applicants seeking 16 hours per week (or a minimum of 12 hours) and will schedule within advertised availability windows with 3 weeks’ notice of shifts.
Please note that you need to be 18 or over to apply for this role.
Responsibilities
* Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
* Serve customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
* Follow food safety and hygiene regulations and keep daily records.
* Practise first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep food fresh.
* Accept deliveries and store food safely.
* Follow operational policies and procedures.
* Prepare, cook, and serve food according to the café menu.
* Maintain standards and ensure all food products are available.
* Know the café menu and serve food as intended.
* Resolve customer complaints and inform the Café Manager as needed.
* Stay up-to-date with business communications and new initiatives.
* Clear and sanitise tables to keep the café clean.
You will need
* A commitment to hospitality and excellent customer service.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
* Ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean environment.

* Comfortable working in a team.
* Great communicator with a proactive attitude.
* Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
* Confident using your initiative to improve ways of working.
* Good at planning and keeping things organised.
* Adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment.
