Governors of this popular, successful, and oversubscribed 11-16 High School are seeking to appoint a committed, motivated, and enthusiastic ICT Technician to join our team. The job description has been updated following the retirement of the previous post holder. The salary grading is pending job evaluation. The successful applicant will work 37 hours per week (term time only, plus 10 additional days during holiday periods).
At Elton, we have an ICT Managed Service with Abtec, who manage our network infrastructure and ICT monitoring. The ICT Technician will be fully supported by Abtec. All ICT issues are reported through a helpdesk, and daily tasks will be allocated accordingly.
Responsibilities include monitoring helpdesk tickets; providing first and second line support for network-connected hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, servers, phone systems, and peripherals; maintaining accounts on the school’s network via Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, and Google; and delivering a highly customer-focused IT service to staff and students.
Elton High School is significantly oversubscribed, with a tradition of excellence. Our recent Ofsted inspections (2017 and February 2022) highlighted our strengths, including high aspirations, positive student behavior, and a respectful school culture.
We pride ourselves on our high-quality staff, ongoing training, and initiatives supporting staff well-being, such as Golden Week and Well-being Day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced candidate to contribute to the school's development and reputation as one of the best in the Greater Manchester area. The school is well-connected via major motorways and the Metrolink system.
The school is committed to safeguarding and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure, and an online search will be conducted on shortlisted candidates, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022.
Further information can be obtained from our Assistant Headteacher (ICT Lead), Mr. Daley Thompson, via email [emailprotected]. Please visit our website for more details and to download an application pack.
Closing date: 10.00am on Monday 30 June 2025.
