PCV Technician Vacancy in Plymouth - Day and Night shifts available
* Both Day and Night shift patterns, a 39-hour week
* 5-day week, Monday to Friday only - Basic £37.5k DOE
* 4-day week, Monday to Friday, 2 in 4 weekends - Basic £44.5k DOE
Are you looking to join a skilled and professional engineering team, maintaining and repairing a modern, diverse fleet? Our client is seeking a qualified mechanic or technician with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) to join their Plymouth depot.
Key responsibilities of a PCV Technician:
* Service, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, and coaches.
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
* Provide frontline support to customers within your designated area.
* Complete all necessary paperwork for warranty, contract, and retail work.
* Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise customer costs.
* Work as part of a small team to deliver outstanding service.
* Flexibility to work outside of regular hours and assist with weekend call-out cover when required.
Qualifications and experience needed:
* Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle/PCV maintenance (City & Guilds or equivalent).
* Proven experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing commercial vehicles.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Previous experience in a dealership environment is highly desirable.
* A full, valid UK driving licence (HGV or PCV licence is advantageous).
* Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer-focused attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
