Description
We are hiring a part-time Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team in Harrogate.
You will own adviser management accounts, support month-end, and provide guidance to junior team members. The role combines hands-on delivery with oversight, working closely with advisers and internal stakeholders to produce clear, reliable financial reporting.
What you'll do
* Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts for adviser businesses
* Post accruals, prepayments, and journals, and complete balance sheet reconciliations
* Support month-end close and meet reporting deadlines
* Respond to adviser queries in a timely, professional manner
* Explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
* Support advisers in understanding their financial performance
* Review and process departmental documentation, including dividend paperwork
* Support company secretarial activity where required
* Maintain accurate, well-documented financial records
* Guide and support junior team members
* Review work and share best practice
* Provide cover across the team during periods of leave
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
* Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or equivalent experience
* Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end processes
* Sound understanding of core accounting principles
* Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* Clear communicator, able to explain financial information simply
* Confident using accounting systems and Excel
* Organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Collaborative and supportive
* Willing to mentor others and contribute to team development
