Job role: Roadside Recovery Driver
Location: Purfleet, RM15 4YD
Rate: £18.91 per hour (HGV1), £17.24 per hour (HGV2)
Shift: Mixed Shift
Contract: End of Sep 2026
Overview
As our Roadside Recovery Driver, you'll go the extra mile for our customers. Anything can happen while driving, but it’s OK – we are the AA! We get everyone back on the road safely and get their day moving again.
You'll be the friendly face of the UK's largest motoring organisation, the superhero for customers, ready for anything, anytime, anywhere and in any weather. You'll use your technical skills to load vehicles onto your truck and get them to a garage or their requested location.
Responsibilities
* A communicator: You are great with customers and remain calm, reassuring, and professional in all situations, ensuring they feel safe and their needs are being met.
* A self‑starter: You can work independently and as part of a team, driving to different locations in all weathers.
* A fixer/problem solver: You thrive in all situations and enjoy using your expertise to solve a variety of issues.
Qualifications
* Live within 25 miles and 1 hour travel from the depot (postcode included in advert).
* Full driving category C licence (HGV 2). Ideally, you also hold a CE (HGV 1) licence; we can help if it’s missing.
* Driver CPC qualification and a digital driver/tachograph card.
* Comfortable adapting to new technology – training is provided.
* Willing and able to work shifts that include evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
