We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join a forward-thinking Targeted Early Help Team in South Yorkshire. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by working with families at the earliest stages of need – promoting resilience, reducing risk, and supporting sustainable positive outcomes. You’ll be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team focused on helping children and families thrive through tailored support, robust assessments, and collaborative planning.
What You'll Be Doing In this vital early intervention role, you will:
1. Build trusted relationships with children, young people, and their families to identify strengths and needs early.
2. Undertake holistic, child-focused assessments and develop outcome-driven family plans.
3. Provide practical and emotional support to families experiencing multiple and complex challenges.
4. Work closely with schools, health professionals, police, and other partners to coordinate support and prevent escalation to statutory services.
5. Empower families to achieve sustainable change and reduce long-term dependency on social care services.
6. Contribute to the design and delivery of targeted support packages tailored to individual circumstances.
What We're Looking For We're looking for a Social Worker who’s committed to early intervention, who thrives in collaborative environments, and who genuinely wants to help families succeed.
You will have:
7. A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
8. 4+ years' post-qualified experience, ideally in early help, family support or child in need services
9. A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and family dynamics
10. Excellent communication, motivational, and relationship-building skills
11. A proactive and reflective approach to working with families and professionals
12. The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a multi-agency team
Why Join the Targeted Early Help Team?
13. Be part of a service that values prevention, collaboration, and child-centred practice
