The role
AJ Chambers is recruiting on behalf of a leading West End law firm in London for a Legal Secretary within the Private, Tax & Wealth Planning team.
The role provides high-level administrative and coordination support to Senior fee earners and Associates, including diary and inbox management, travel and expenses, client meeting preparation, billing support, client onboarding, compliance monitoring, and event coordination. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact, liaise with internal teams, support client relationship activities, and ensure the smooth running of matters from inception to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing calendars, meetings, travel, and expenses.
- Supporting billing, WIP management, and debt collection processes.
- Coordinating client onboarding, compliance checks, and matter administration.
- Preparing and proofreading documents, presentations, and correspondence.
- Assisting with client events, business development activities, and client care programmes.
- Liaising with internal departments and providing cover for colleagues when required.
Requirements:
- Previous administrative experience within a professional services environment (ideally legal).
- Strong organisational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Experience managing complex diaries for multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within compliance frameworks.
- A flexible, team-oriented approach and high levels of discretion.
- Confidence using case management, billing, and CRM systems.
