Paediatric Respiratory are looking for an enthusiastic advanced clinical practitioner with expert knowledge and experience to cover for 9 months to cover maternity leave. This is an opportunity to learn about specialist paediatric respiratory and be involved with service redesign and planning as the team move clinical sites.
The post holder will have specialist skills in the assessment, treatment and management of patients and their families. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, while working in conjunction with senior nursing, consultant, ACP team and wider MDT.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an experienced registered nurse with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients. Inconjunction with seniornursingand consultant staff formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical speciality. The post holder will develop new areas of practice, with nursing and consultant staff ensuring quality standards are met. The paediatric respiratory team has a strong multidisciplinary team with whom the post holder will work closely and collaborate to ensure that high quality patient care is maintained. As this is a time of change within the service with the impending co-location of paediatric cardiorespiratory services to the Evelina site, this presents an exciting opportunity for service development and change management.

Qualifications/Education
Essential criteria
12. Bachelors Degree in nursing, health or management related studies.
13. A Masters level qualification/or equivalent experience
14. Be an independent prescriber according to the Trusts Non medical prescribing policy

19. Broad clinical experience relevant to the post, including specialist skills and experience in speciality.

21. A proven track record of clinical service management at a senior level in an acute hospital environment, including staff management, financial management and change management.
22. Demonstrate use of financial acumen in patient/client, team, organisational and system level decision-making a
23. Experience of teaching patients and staff and others including health promotion and prevention orientation,
24. Demonstrate evidence of engaging stakeholders and influencing the development and improvement of practice, patient care and service delivery.

25. Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of speciality with a wide range of approaches to the management of patients, demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning and be able to comprehensively assess patients for risk factors and early signs of illness

Ability to lead within the nursing profession and multi-professional working; within an organisation and across organisation boundaries, being able to identify and implement systems to promote their contribution and demonstrate the impact of advanced level nursing to the healthcare team and the wider health and social care sector

28. Ability to draw on a diverse range of knowledge in their decision- making to determine evidence- based therapeutic interventions (which will usually include prescribing medication and actively monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions)
