Site Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

Contract Type: Contract - 10 Months
Role Overview
We are recruiting a Site Engineer to support the delivery of multi‑technology renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind, hydro, and biomass.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, surveying, interpreting engineering designs, and ensuring technical accuracy on site. You will act as a key link between design teams and construction teams, reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager.
This role is ideal for someone with strong site engineering experience, excellent technical capability, and previous involvement in renewable or large‑scale energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Set out works using GPS, total stations, and laser levels
• Transfer design drawings into accurate site layouts
• Check construction works against approved engineering drawings
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure works meet specification
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks
• Maintain accurate records, surveys, and as‑built documentation
• Prepare daily/weekly site reports for the project team
• Provide technical support and solve on‑site engineering challenges
• Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and stakeholders
• Communicate technical requirements clearly to site teams
• Support client and regulatory inspections as required
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience in setting out and surveying on construction projects
• Proficiency with CAD software and surveying equipment (GPS, total station)
• Strong understanding of renewable energy systems and construction processes
• Ground Mount Solar Farm build experience – essential
• Health & Safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar) – desirable
