Are you a good team player with a positive outlook? Do you have a keen interest in dogs? If so, join our Dogs team as a full time Intake and Assessment Officer providing daily animal care and support to the pets in our care.
In this full time permanent position, you will be working alongside other Intake and Assessment Officers, Pet Matching Officers and Dog Care Specialists to provide the best care to our dogs and prepare them for new homes. You will have the chance to make a real difference and contribute to overall rehoming outcomes.
In addition, you will;
* Conduct on-going assessments of dogs to get them ready for fostering and/or rehoming
* Assist in the rehoming and matching of dogs as necessary
* Ensure all health and safety standards are maintained for yourself and colleagues
* Provide stimulating environments and activities for the pets in our care to promote physical and mental well-being
* Train and support volunteers to enhance dog welfare and operations
Our ideal candidate should be able to implement learnt dog behaviour, have a knowledge of animal health and a thorough understanding of how to provide excellent customer service as well as good record keeping skills. They will have the chance to make a real difference and contribute to a dogs journey whilst at Woodgreen.
To be considered for this opportunity you will need;
* Proven communications skills within a team
* A basic understanding and skills for Microsoft Office
* To be able to work both independently and under supervision
* The ability to work under pressure, whilst applying pragmatism to difficult situations
Applicants should note that our Intake and Assessment Officer role is a highly emotional and physically demanding position.
The starting salary for this position is £24,570 per annum, depending on experience. This will be complemented by;
* 36 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to 40 days after five years
