We're supporting a specialist UK engineering & technology operation seeking a
Quality & Assurance Leader
to shape, protect and continuously improve operational excellence across the business.
This is ownership of standards, compliance, culture and credibility.
You will act as the authority for quality governance, partnering with senior leadership and technical teams to embed best practice across complex manufacturing and project delivery activities.
What you'll be doing
* Owning and developing the organisation's Quality Management System
* Leading internal audits, inspections and corrective action programmes
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations and supply chain
* Managing non-conformances and customer quality concerns through to resolution
* Assessing and approving suppliers & subcontractors
* Ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and industry standards
* Introducing additional frameworks where appropriate (HSE / environmental / regulated standards)
* Reporting performance metrics and influencing leadership decisions
* Acting as the champion of quality culture across the business
What we're looking for
* Proven experience improving quality within an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Strong working knowledge of ISO-based management systems (ISO9001 essential)
* Experience with auditing, investigations and root-cause methodologies
* Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability
* Comfortable working in multidisciplinary technical environments
* Methodical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
* Relevant technical/engineering background (degree or equivalent experience)
Desirable
* Exposure to additional standards (e.g. environmental, safety or regulated industries)
* Formal quality or HSE certifications
* Leadership or team development experience
Important eligibility requirement
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance.
