Join to apply for the CAD Technician role at RPS. We are recruiting a CAD Technician to join our Water Consultancy team operating across the UK. You will work on AMP8 and AMP9 projects, delivering high-quality water services in a collaborative environment. The wastewater consulting team undertakes a broad range of projects including urban drainage and water quality modelling studies; WINEP, SOAF, DWMPs and catchment investment planning, from feasibility through to outline and detailed design.
About the Team
RPS Water Consulting is a team of engineers, designers, modellers and data analysts providing asset management and operational strategy development to water industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry that requires innovation, dedication and teamwork to meet client needs.
About You
We are looking for a CAD Technician who can:
* liaise with design teams to understand project needs, work with different disciplines, and produce high-quality outputs with strong attention to detail
* produce drawings, models, schedules and diagrams across the project lifecycle; experience in the water industry and with a range of CAD and design standards
* understand how water and wastewater treatment processes, networks and pipelines operate
* have relevant experience in an engineering consultancy, preferably within the water industry
* proficiency in AutoCAD and similar packages for creating and editing technical drawings
* experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Revit is advantageous
* experience in civil and structural design, reinforcement detailing and MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) design
* strong attention to detail and compliance with industry standards
* understanding of relevant regulations, standards and best practices in the water industry
* familiarity with construction methods, equipment and materials used in water infrastructure projects (pipelines, treatment plants, storage facilities)
* familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and CAD data management, including intelligent P+IDs
* a full driving licence

Your Responsibilities
* Work on a wide variety of projects across major long-term frameworks with water companies and contractors across the UK
* Seek positive outcomes for projects and communities
* Collaborate with senior engineers and other stakeholders to support project delivery
* Prepare and produce engineering drawings and assist in preparing technical details
* Assist in training junior staff on CAD software and best practices
* Ensure quality assurance systems and procedures are followed
* Develop and comply with CAD standards and standard CAD blocks
Qualifications
* HNC in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent
