Geocore part of the RSK Group have an exciting new opportunity for a Trainee Assistant Driller to join their team. Although based in Redcar, UK other locations in the North of England will be considered as the work is site based UK wide and will involve working away from home Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
* Assist in rotary drilling and window sample drilling operations
* Assist in the setup and breakdown of drilling equipment at job sites
* Assist with pre drilling safety checks and equipment inspections
* Assist with ensuring all drilling operations comply with health and safety regulations
* Ensure drilling sites are clean and safe during and after operations
* Assist in the collection, labelling and logging of soil and rock samples
* Document and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
* Oversee the maintenance, repairs and inventory of department plant, equipment and tools
* Adhere to best working practices and industry standards, with training and guidance provided.
* Follow working instructions as specified by engineers, directors, lead drillers and supervisors
* Communicate effectively with internal parties to ensure smooth operations
* Perform additional tasks as reasonably expected within your level of capability to meet the company’s evolving needs.
Qualifications/Experience Required
* Full UK driving license
* Willingness to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses. These may include but are not limited to, CSCS, CAT, First Aid, Manual Handling, Plant Operations, Asbestos Awareness
* Experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
