Looking to speak to speak to experienced Signalling and Telecoms (S&T) Supervisor and Construction Manager on a freelance basis to lead on-site activities for upcoming station and line upgrade projects in the UK
Role Purpose:
As a crucial member of the project team, you will act as the on-site technical authority, supervising and delivering key packages of signalling and telecoms works. You will ensure that all technical, quality, and safety standards (Network Rail standards) are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Supervision & Leadership: Lead on-site installation, testing, and commissioning activities, mentoring S&T Technicians, Installers, and Apprentices.
* Construction Management: Oversee contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
* S&T Focus: Plan and oversee works involving signaling equipment, points machines, control systems, and lineside fibre networks.
* Quality & Assurance: Inspect ongoing work, ensure compliance with design documents, and manage red-line mark-up drawings.
* Health & Safety: Maintain the highest safety standards, acting as Person in Charge (PIC/PICOP) when required.
* Progress Reporting: Liaise with the Project Manager, providing regular updates on project progress, budget compliance, and schedule.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience: Proven experience as a Supervisor or Construction Manager within the railway signaling/telecoms sector.
* Qualifications: Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent experience.
* Safety Credentials: Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) card.
* Competence: IRSE License (Signalling) or relevant SMTH experience.
* Compliance: Deep knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
* Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Requirements:
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
* Experience with ETCS or Major Station Upgrade projects.
