Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Luton
Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in Luton to manage project costs, prepare accurate construction estimates, and drive financial performance across high-quality building projects within a growing construction business.
Location: Luton
Salary: £45, – £60, per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets for construction projects
2. Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents carefully
3. Carry out quantity take-offs and complete cost analysis for labour and materials
4. Work closely with project managers to control costs from start to finish
5. Identify financial risks early and develop clear cost-control strategies
6. Negotiate competitive rates with subcontractors and suppliers
7. Track project spend and report on budget performance regularly
8. Maintain accurate cost records and manage contract variations effectively
9. Monitor market trends, material prices, and regulatory updates
Essential Skills & Experience
10. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Construction Estimator
11. Strong understanding of construction cost management
12. Ability to interpret technical drawings and contract documentation
13. Excellent negotiation and commercial awareness
14. High attention to detail and financial accuracy
15. Strong communication skills when working with clients and contractors
16. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines confidently
