Blue Badge Assessor Location: Hackney Rate per hour: £35 per hour Working Arrangements: Flexible working – remote options available Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Blue Badge Assessor to support Hackney in clearing a backlog of 100 cases that have developed during a period of absence. This role focuses on assessing Blue Badge applications from individuals with non-visible (hidden) disabilities, such as autism, dementia, or severe mental health conditions. Applicants may experience very considerable difficulty walking or may pose a serious risk to themselves or others in traffic situations. About the Role: You will be responsible for: Reviewing detailed medical evidence Conducting telephone and/or face-to-face assessments Making independent, evidence-based recommendations regarding eligibility Assessing risk and functional mobility in line with current Blue Badge guidance Requirements: Qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist Proven experience completing Blue Badge assessments (essential) Strong understanding of non-visible disabilities and functional mobility assessments Ability to work independently and make clear, defensible decisions Familiarity with relevant Blue Badge eligibility criteria and guidance This role can potentially be completed remotely, offering flexibility, although in-person assessments may be required where appropriate.
