We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced counsellor to join a small supportive team providing a high-quality counselling service to over 1,000 Intellectual Property Office (IPO) staff. �BACP or equivalent professional body membership is an essential requirement. The successful candidate will play an active part in supporting other relevant networks and mental health initiatives across IPO.
Working location
This role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where staff are currently expected to spend at least 40% of their time working onsite from one of our offices. This role is based in our Newport office�
The requirement for attendance at an office location can vary by role so we would encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the recruiting manager to agree a reasonable balance between working from home and the office.
Job description
1. Counselling in several formats including face-to-face, video and telephone.
2. Counselling staff with work-related issues.
3. Counselling staff with a wide range of mental health and personal issues affecting them at work.
4. Counselling clients with complex issues.
5. Managing a caseload.
6. Providing relevant guidance and support to managers.
7. Managing referrals for counselling and communicating with clients who contact the service.
8. Managing risk.
9. Supporting clients with relevant medical referral process, supporting applications for occupational health advice.
10. Providing Management Information to the business, monthly statistics, annual report.
11. Developing and delivering awareness and information events to share information on the counselling service and other mental health themes.

This is a part time post of - 21 hours per week.
Qualifications
Professionally recognised qualification (Degree or Post Graduate Diploma) in Counselling
Memberships
Registration with Professional body such as: BACP, UKCP or BPC
