About the Role


This is a full-time, hybrid role for an experienced Head of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality), who will be based at our offices in Belfast City Centre, Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality systems across the organisation. The role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively communicate the importance of SHEQ compliance to all levels of the organisation.


Please Note: Whilst the candidate will be based in our offices in Northern Ireland, they will be required to travel frequently to our project countries globally as part of their role.



Responsibilities


* Advise management and ensure compliance through Audit of SHEQ, occupational health and welfare Procedures and Policies;
* Provide Expert and current advice affecting the health, safety, environmental and quality to staff;
* Managing the ESIA process to IFC requirements for international projects;
* To develop the companies’ policies and implement ISO 9001, 18001 and 45001, and maintain same;
* Undertake regular audits to identify corrective actions and ensure these are delivered through the local SHEQ teams;
* Manage SHEQ requirements for our on-site activities, supporting the project managers & their teams, ensuring procedures are followed for delivering projects safely;
* Manage SHEQ training matrix, ensuring that all employee’s certification is up to date;
* Ensure that personnel at all levels are updated on new and revised SHEQ legislation.
* Carry out full investigations into all reportable accidents/incidents, dangerous occurrences, and issuing reports with recommended action.
* Ensure the company’s 3rd party Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety accreditations are kept up to date and external management systems maintained.
* Supporting the local teams in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements in conjunction with management and reviewing sub-contractors risk assessments.
* The role will require regular international travel for audit & training plus the key tasks outlined above;



Qualifications


* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
* NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
* Full driving license
* Qualification in Environmental Management (IEMA) (Desirable)



Required Skills


* Must have experience in managing the implementation of ISO 9001, 18001, 45001 and also maintaining these standards to ensure compliance with IFC & ISO standards
* Experience in managing the ESIA process for international projects to IFC standards Category B and A
* At least 7 years SHEQ Management experience
* Construction experience (Desirable)
* Internal and External Audit qualification and experience
