Job Overview
VANRATH is partnering with a returning client to recruit a Grants Verification Officer for a temporary position. The successful candidate will lead, plan, and deliver an independent audit service.

£30,000, Belfast
Duration
Up to 6 months, with potential extension
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure expenditure is eligible, accurate, and aligned with project budgets.
2. Complete verification forms and reports, highlighting non-compliance or irregularities for management action.
3. Verify that projects comply with grant applications, contract conditions, and funding agreements.
4. Adapt verification work based on project size and nature, addressing irregularities.
5. Report financial irregularities to relevant authorities and suggest improvements.
6. Assist in reviewing funding schemes, policies, and procedures amid changing priorities.
7. Safeguard financial records and support auditors.
8. Build effective relationships and contribute to policy development.
Essential Criteria
1. Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English.
2. At least 2 years' experience in verification or audit of expenditure, financial accounting, or payroll processing.
3. Experience reviewing financial processes and controls for at least 2 years.
4. Proven ability to liaise with stakeholders for positive outcomes.
5. Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
