We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
* Hours : 25.9 hours per week
* Shift pattern : Mon Fri, 9am 5pm
This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working individual to join our Older People’s Community Mental Health Team, providing assessment, treatment and intervention to older people with mental health conditions within the South of Glasgow City.
The Older People’s Community Mental Health Team responds to a wide range of referrals for individuals with organic or functional mental health conditions, including dementia, mood disorders, anxiety and other severe and enduring mental health conditions. As an Occupational Therapist, you will manage a defined caseload and carry out Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment and evaluation to identify mental and physical barriers to the patient’s level of functioning in daily life-skill activities.
The Occupational Therapist will work with the patient on an individual or group work basis to enable and rehabilitate their level of function in their daily living activities to maximise their independence within their living and community environment. The Occupational Therapist will report to the Band 6 Occupational Therapist and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and engage in team activities such as mental health assessment, memory assessment, risk assessment, audit and research.
You will be a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with experience in working with older adults with mental health conditions and you should be able to demonstrate a desire to work in a community setting. You will visit patients within their homes, therefore a full driving licence is anticipated.
