Your new companyYou'll be joining a major UK financial institution, operating within a regulated and data-intensive environment. The organisation places strong emphasis on data governance, controls, regulatory compliance (including BCBS239 & GDPR), and cross-functional collaboration across global teams (UK, India, US). You'll work within CAPL business areas such as Cards, Loans, Affordability, Current Accounts, Overdrafts, Payments, and Open Banking.Your new roleYou will operate at VP level as a senior Business/Data Analyst, leading analysis activities end-to-end across business and technology streams.Key responsibilities include:Leading and shaping the analysis phase for data hydration from CAPL systems and business consumption use cases.Mentoring junior analysts and ensuring alignment with Barclays standards and frameworks (RFT, GTIS, CDO office, Governance & Controls).Gathering, documenting, and validating business, functional, and data requirements in collaboration with SMEs, product owners, architects, and tech teams.Performing deep-dive data analysis, modelling, data lineage mapping, and identifying data gaps.Supporting data mapping between source and target systems, defining transformation rules and acceptance criteria.Conducting impact assessments for data-related changes across platforms.Strengthening data governance and compliance with BCBS239, GDPR, and Barclays internal data controls.Participating actively in Agile ceremonies and maintaining documentation in JIRA and Confluence.Supporting testing phases, including scenario creation, data validation, and requirements traceability.What you'll need to succeedMandatory experience in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role.Strong knowledge of banking systems, platforms, data landscapes, operational processes, and governance frameworks.Proven experience in:Data analysis & data modellingBusiness & technical requirements gatheringWorking within domains such as Risk, Finance & Treasury, Payments, Customer and Product DataAbility to lead analysis for CAPL platforms (Cards, Loans, Affordability, Current Accounts, Overdrafts, Payments, Open Banking).Hands-on skills in SQL and data profiling tools (preferred).Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Agile delivery.Strong stakeholder-management skills across global locations (UK, India, US).UK based and immediately available.What you'll get in returnA senior, visible VP-level role within one of the UK's most recognised banking institutions.Opportunity to lead end-to-end analysis across strategic data initiatives and regulatory frameworks.Exposure to high-impact data governance, controls, and enterprise-wide data transformation programmes.Ability to work with global teams and influence key business and technology decisions.A platform to grow as a senior data & business analysis leader within a complex, well-structured financial environment.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
