The Wild Rabbit in Kingham is a fine dining restaurant and boutique hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds. Recognised in the Top 50 Gastropubs, the Top 50 Boutique Hotels, and awarded 3 AA Rosettes, The Wild Rabbit blends culinary excellence with warm, authentic hospitality.

Working in close connection with Daylesford Farm, our menus showcase the best seasonal, organic produce, crafted with skill and creativity. Under the leadership of Executive Chef Callum Graham, our team combines classical technique with modern inspiration, making The Wild Rabbit one of the most exciting fine dining destinations in the Cotswolds.


ABOUT THE ROLE

The Duty Manager is responsible for leading The Wild Rabbit operation on Mondays and Tuesdays, ensuring the site is well‑managed, guest‑ready, and operating to a consistently high standard. With the restaurant closed on these days, the role focuses on delivering a strong bar and Light Bites offering, while maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment across all guest‑facing areas.


RESPONSIBILITIES

* Takes full ownership of the guest experience, ensuring service is warm, attentive, and professional at all times.
* Responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting and directing the team on shift, and maintaining standards across both front and back of house.
* Proactive approach to manage service flow, resolve issues effectively, and ensure the site remains fully prepared and presented throughout the day.
* Accountable for opening and closing the site, including accurate cash handling and banking, and for ensuring all compliance, health and safety, and company standards are upheld.
* Consistent attention to detail, strong organisation, and the ability to work independently are essential to ensure a smooth and well‑run operation on quieter trading days.


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

* Previous experience within a hospitality environment, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Strong guest service skills, with the ability to deliver warm, attentive, and professional interactions at all times.
* Confident communication skills, able to engage with guests, support the team, and handle queries or issues effectively.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, remain organised, and maintain high standards during both quiet and busy periods.
* Good knowledge of food and beverage, with the ability to confidently present offerings, advise guests, and drive sales through up‑selling.
* Ability to take ownership of a shift, using initiative to identify issues and resolve them efficiently.
* Reliable and dependable, with a consistent approach to timekeeping, standards, and team support.
* Strong attention to detail, ensuring all areas of the site are maintained to a high standard.

ABOUT GRATUITIES AND SERVICE CHARGE

Gratuities are paid on a pro rata basis. It is estimated that in 2026 full‑time employees can expect to receive in the region of £4,000 in addition to their annual salary.
