Job Purpose
To lead and manage inventory operations across both internal and external sites, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and growth plans. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence through accurate stock control - focusing on both location and value integrity. The Inventory Supervisor will champion data accuracy and readiness for WMS/ERP integration, positioning the business for future scalability. By applying GBS lean principles, the role ensures that inventory is optimally located and available when needed, supported by reliable data and insights to enhance customer satisfaction and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
* Lead and manage the Stock Control, Material Handling, Goods-Inward, and Recycling teams to ensure efficient and seamless inventory operations across the supply chain.
* Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews to monitor progress and address challenges.
Operational Oversight & Strategic Support
* Ensure all inventory is accurately located and accounted for, with stock accuracy driving all operational decisions.
* Oversee inventory from receipt through to correct put-away, maintaining full accountability throughout the process.
* Contribute to the execution of the 3–5 year Supply Chain strategic plan.
* Maintain proactive communication with the Purchasing Team regarding overstock situations and early deliveries.
Process & System Management
* Ensure accurate stock recording and timely updates to the Daily Management Board, including receipt, transaction completion, and put-away activities.
* Lead structured morning meetings and daily briefings to communicate targets, objectives, and SQCDP performance metrics.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives using GBS methodologies, engaging the team in Kaizen, 6S, and problem-solving activities to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
Compliance & Safety
* Uphold all company policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance across the team.
* Partner with the HSQEP team to identify and mitigate risks through effective risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
* Promote a safe working environment through regular safety audits, MEETs, and proactive incident prevention.
* Investigate accidents promptly using the KELVIN TOPSET methodology, ensuring thorough documentation and resolution.
The Person:
* 5+ years’ experience in stock/supply/control
* Leadership or Supervisory experience required
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
* Effective leadership and communication skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy in stock tracking
* Competence in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools
