Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dementia Support Worker to join our dedicated nursing team on Cader Ward at Ysbyty Dolgellau. The post holder will assist in planning a unit individual and group activity programme, which may require working with other members of the ward staff. This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive approach towards change. You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. The post is a part‑time position of 22.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Assist in planning a unit individual and group activity programme for the ward, potentially in collaboration with other ward staff.
* Provide care and support to patients with dementia and those with delirium during their hospital stay.
* Demonstrate care and compassion in delivering patient care and support, maintaining high standards of care in a demanding environment.
* Support the development of skills and ensure care of a high standard is delivered.
Qualifications
* Experience of dementia care and planning activities.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to deliver high standards of care in a demanding environment.
* Welsh language ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
