Retail Store Manager & Filling Station Manager We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our NISA Local Supermarket and BP Filling Station in Sudbury, Suffolk. We are a trusted local Supermarket and fuel station delivering convenience and value to drivers and shoppers. Our group is a privately run family business established 45 years ago, providing a supportive and rewarding working environment for all our employees. The Manager will ensure that the store runs smoothly and offers excellent customer service. This will include increasing profitability whilst retaining high standards throughout. Key Responsibilities: Staff Management: Hiring, training and supervising employees, scheduling a shift rota and supporting a positive work environment. Inventory Management: Overseeing and managing stock levels, minimising waste and ensuring shelves are well-stocked. Fuel Stock Management: Overseeing stock levels, ordering and pricing. Customer Service: Addressing customer enquiries and complaints, resolving issues and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Financial Management: Reconciliation of cash, monitoring sales figures, controlling expenses, managing budgets and contributing to profitability. Operational Efficiency: Implementing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimise store operations. Compliance: Ensuring the store adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations and other legal requirements. Overall responsibility for compliance with UK alcohol, tobacco and medicine laws. Maintaining Store Standards: Ensuring the store is clean, organised and well-maintained. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, management, customers and staff. Project Management: Planning, scheduling and executing projects within the supermarket. Support: Operating Tills to provide support and opening and closing the store when required. The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage and motivate staff. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage budgets and financial performance. A hands-on approach to all aspects of the role. Knowledge of inventory management and loss prevention. Understanding of health and safety regulations. Experience in the retail industry, particularly in grocery or supermarket management and/or fuel filling station environment beneficial. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £40,000 based upon experience, plus profit related bonus (based upon Supermarket sales growth).
