About the Opportunity
Offer support and technical assistance to customers who are using software, hardware, or other computer systems and need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests and remote access to their computers. Work within the wider support team to help maintain and upgrade IT systems and networks.
Typical Tasks:
1. Providing technical assistance for questions and problems in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone or via remote desktop software
2. Using Lansweeper and Service Now to complete and assign tickets for network, PC, laptop, printer and other IT issues
3. Initiating responses, tracking, updating, reviewing, and concluding actions in Lansweeper and Service Now
4. Following up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues
5. Installing, configuring and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs
6. Installing, configuring application and operating system software and upgrades
7. Supporting the roll-out of new applications
8. Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network connectivity issues
9. Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines
10. Reporting job status to team or task leads
Here’s What You’ll Need
11. Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what their problem is and explain the solution
12. Ability to communicate effectively to help customers fix their issues and feel satisfied with the experience and ability to simplify complex technology terms
13. Proven ability to work independently, prioritise your workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while being conscious of how your work interacts with that of others
14. Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
15. Possess drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail
16. Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
We would be interested to hear from you if you have the following experience, but is not essential in the assessment of your applications:
17. Experience of working in an IT Support role - awareness of data centre operations and network-based server systems
18. Working with classified information, data, and systems.
19. Any experience with routers, switches, encryption, and firewalls, Windows, Windows Servers and Active Directory, VMWare, VSphere, and VCenter
20. Knowledge of Linux platforms, Jira and SharePoint, coding languages for scripting ( Python, Perl)
