About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a new Residential Care Home opening in Southport. This is a rare chance to shape and lead a service from the very beginning, embedding a culture of excellence, compassion, and person-centred care. You’ll be at the heart of establishing a high-quality, safe, and empowering home for individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health needs.
Responsibilities
1. Lead in establishing, registering, and launching the new service, ensuring full regulatory compliance from day one.
2. Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, rota planning, and service delivery.
3. Ensure care and support are person-centred, safe, and responsive to individual needs.
4. Recruit, develop, and retain a skilled staff team, fostering a positive culture.
5. Promote an open working environment where staff feel valued and empowered.
6. Build relationships with families, local authorities, and external professionals.
7. Maintain compliant documentation, care plans, audits, and risk assessments.
8. Manage the home’s budget and resources effectively.
9. Drive continuous improvement through audits, service development, and inspection preparation.
Essential qualifications and experience
* Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
* Experience as a Registered Manager or similar leadership role in Residential Care.
* Strong understanding of CQC regulations, Safeguarding, MCA, DoLS, and Health & Safety.
* Experience supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or Mental Health needs.
* Proven leadership skills in building and managing teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
* Strong IT and administrative skills, familiar with care management systems.
* Flexible, proactive, and able to meet the needs of a new service.
* Willing to participate in on-call duties.
Preferred qualifications
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards).
* Experience in setting up new services.
* Familiarity with Nourish, PeopleHR, Deputy, and Radar systems.
* Experience in complex care environments.
