We are looking for a committed and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Corby, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs to achieve both personally and academically. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine impact in the lives of children and young people who may face challenges around behaviour, trauma, anxiety and emotional regulation. The Role As part of our dedicated support team, you will: Provide in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs Help students develop emotional resilience, confidence and positive coping strategies Support behaviour for learning using restorative and trauma-informed approaches Assist in delivering interventions focused on wellbeing, engagement and social development Work alongside teachers, pastoral leads and therapeutic professionals to meet individual pupil needs Foster a safe, calm and supportive learning environment Encourage positive relationships, self-esteem and student independence Support pupils to re-engage with education and achieve their potential We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has a genuine interest in mental health and supporting vulnerable young people Is calm, patient and able to build positive relationships Has experience in education, care, youth support or a related setting (preferred but not essential) Understands SEMH, trauma or behaviour support approaches (desirable) Can respond positively to challenging situations with professionalism and empathy Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing Ideal For Candidates With Backgrounds In: Teaching Assistance / Learning Support Youth or Community Work Mental Health or Support Work Behaviour Mentoring Residential Childcare Psychology, Counselling or Education Graduates What We Offer A welcoming and supportive specialist school environment Ongoing training and career development opportunities The chance to be part of a passionate, child-centred team A highly rewarding role where every day makes a difference Safeguarding We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
