To help achieve this we wish to recruit an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative with leadership experience within a team to manage and maintain a highly motivated and valued grounds maintenance team.
Working as part of a mobile team you will lead a small team and carry out all aspects of grounds maintenance and other conservation and horticultural tasks at a number of sites throughout the borough, working in an outdoor environment all year round.
Duties include:
* Leading a small team of grounds maintenance operatives
* Countryside conservation activities
* Application of pesticides
* General grounds maintenance duties such as, digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, tree planting, bulb and wildflower plug planting, wildflower meadow preparation and maintenance etc.
* Use of horticultural machinery and grass cutting machinery
* Hard and soft landscaping work; desirable criteria includes experience of fencing, paving and the application of pesticides
* Assist with external cleaning duties – such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins etc.
