The Health Board currently operates a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30‑minute or two 30‑minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. In early stages, a Health Care Support Worker position has arisen on ward 10 at the Princess of Wales Hospital, in the Respiratory ward. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, use their own initiative, work under the direction of the registered nurse, and provide high standards of care. Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential. Experience working with the elderly who may have complex physical and cognitive needs is desirable but training will be provided.
