SEN Teacher : SEMH School (DT, Art and Cooking) Harlow
We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Harlow on a full:time basis. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream settings. About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
* Deliver high:quality, engaging lessons in Design Technology, Art, and Cooking / Food Technology
* Plan and adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning, emotional, and behavioural needs of pupils across KS2:KS4
* Use creative and practical subjects to build confidence, resilience, and engagement in learning
* Develop positive, trusting relationships that support pupils emotional regulation and personal development
* Create a calm, structured, and predictable classroom environment that promotes safety and success
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and other professionals to support pupil progress
* Assess and monitor both academic achievement and personal development outcomes
* Encourage pupils to develop essential life skills, creativity, and independence through practical learning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* QTS or QTLS (essential)
* Experience teaching DT, Art, Food Technology, Cooking, or practical subjects
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs
* A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching
* Strong behaviour management skills built on consistency and understanding
* The ability to adapt teaching for a wide range of academic and emotional needs
* A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
