The Role
* Leading and managing the Design & Technology department across KS3, KS4, and KS5
* Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
* Developing an ambitious, industry-relevant DT curriculum
* Overseeing workshop safety, compliance, and resource management
* Line managing and mentoring DT staff
* Monitoring pupil progress and implementing attainment strategies
* Managing departmental budgets and contributing to strategic planning
* Supporting whole-school improvement and leadership initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A degree in Design & Technology or related discipline
* Proven experience teaching DT at secondary level, including examination groups
* Previous leadership experience within a department
* A strong track record of raising standards and improving outcomes
* Excellent organisational and strategic leadership skills
* Strong knowledge of workshop health & safety compliance
