Burnley Borough Council is looking for a motivated Civic and Community Engagement Officer to support the delivery of civic events and strengthen engagement with communities across the borough. As a Civic and Community Engagement Officer, you will work closely with the Mayor, Civic Dignitaries and local communities playing a pivotal role in fostering community spirit and enhancing civic engagement across Burnley. You will collaborate with the Mayor and Civic Dignitaries, managing their diaries and coordinating a vibrant programme of projects, events, ceremonies, civic functions, and public engagements. You will deliver Community Engagement Programmes working at the grassroots level to create and implement initiatives that encourage meaningful discussions between the Council and local communities. What We’re Looking For: Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and be responsible for delivering from start to finish civic, community and other events. The ability to deal diplomatically with difficult situations and individuals. The ability to manage budgets and negotiate prices. The ability to work as part of a team and collaborate across a wide range of internal and external contacts. Experience of working with council members, members of parliament or members of the public. You must be able to attend evening meetings, work outside normal office hours and hold a full clean driver’s licence and have the use of a car for work purposes. Why Join Us?
