About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells. HMP Five Wells is a category C resettlement prison based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire and houses around 1,687 patients. In this role you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be supported by a second Psychiatrist who is also our national psychiatry lead.
Hours
4 days / 8 sessions per week between Monday to Friday. This role can be offered as a job share, or if you are looking for full time it can be worked across HMP Five Wells, HMP Gartree or HMP Stocken.
Salary
You will receive an annual salary up to £196,736 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
* Work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews

Qualifications Required
* Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
* Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
* Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
