The role of a Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the people living within Orchard homes. We ensure everyone is cared for with dignity and respect, and that they are engaged in how they receive support from our staff. You will play a key role in ensuring they participate in meaningful activities and receive the best support tailored to their individual needs.
Responsibilities include:
1. Enabling people to remain as independent as possible while providing support and assistance as per their needs. This includes delivering personal care such as washing, dressing, and oral care.
2. Being understanding and patient, encouraging and supporting individuals to participate in leisure activities that suit their preferences, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. Supporting individuals and groups to outside appointments and leisure outings.
3. Making and changing beds, tidying rooms, undertaking light cleaning duties, and assisting in keeping the home clean, pleasant, and welcoming.
4. Helping to serve meals and drinks, presenting them attractively, and providing appropriate support at mealtimes.
5. Understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role, including Health & Safety, COSHH, the Care Standards Act, and Infection Prevention and Control policies to maintain a safe environment.
