We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team, providing key SEN support within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure effective provision and that learning needs are met.
Job overview
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll provide personalised SEN support on a 1:1 basis, supporting the pupil in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs. The role also involves providing pastoral support, monitoring progress, and feeding back to the class teacher while working closely with relevant staff to ensure the individual can achieve their full potential.
Job requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
* GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
* Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, regarding pupil progress
