As a Technical Customer Services Advisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting our customers by providing expert guidance on the use of our products and helping to prepare both standard and bespoke coating specifications that meet their needs. Your technical knowledge and customer-first mindset will help ensure satisfaction and build strong relationships across the business.
This role can be based at either our Bolton, UK or Vaihingen, Germany site, offering flexibility for the right candidate.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be fluent in both German and English (spoken and written) and bring experience in customer service. Reporting to the Technical Customer Support Team Leader, responsibilities will include:
1. Respond to telephone and email enquiries in relation to technical questions on our product line with a target enquiry time of 24 hours
2. Ensures a professional and courteous response to all customers (external and internal)
3. Provide prompt and accurate information to customers, field sales staff and other internal customers upon request in relation to technical aspects of a product or coatings specification
4. Participate in customer meetings including specifiers and architects
5. Provide detailed technical specifications to satisfy customer needs
6. Provide technical information on request to internal and external customers
7. Utilise effectively for all enquiries feeding into projects
8. Continual development of industry knowledge through internal and external learning
9. Support the general running of the department
10. To encourage and develop a team culture both within own team and across the business
11. Enables and delivers effective training and development for individuals and the team
12. Achievement of effective communication both within own team and between teams
Qualifications/ Experience:
13. RequiredBilingual – German and EnglishExperience in customer servicesEducated to GCSE level or National equivalent
14. DesirableTechnical background in the coatings industryIndustry qualification such as ICorr, NACE, ASFP etc.Educated to Degree level – ideally in a technical/engineering field
Knowledge:
15. Excellent English and German language – spoken and written
16. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
