Manual Machinist
Location: West Sussex
Hours: Day Shift (Monday–Friday)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to manufacture, modify and repair precision components using manual machining techniques.
This role supports the production engineering function in delivering safe, efficient and high-quality manufactured parts, often working to tight timelines. You will produce tooling, fixtures and components to specification, enabling continuous production, project work and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operating XYZ manual milling machines
Operating manual lathe machines
Using band saws and hydraulic hacksaws
Ensuring all equipment and tooling is functioning effectively
Producing work to a high-quality standard in line with engineering drawings
Maintaining excellent housekeeping and adhering to Health & Safety standards
Supporting the training of new or transferred employees where required
Liaising with internal departments as necessary
Carrying out additional reasonable duties as required
Experience & Skills Required
Proven experience programming and operating XYZ milling machines
Strong experience operating manual lathe machines
Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
Ability to work accurately and precisely from engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements
