Are you ready to take the next step in your IT career? Gardners is seeking a proactive and detail-driven IT Systems Engineer to join our dedicated technical team. In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure that underpins our global distribution network.
Job Opportunity
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, securing, and supporting IT systems. You will manage both routine and complex technical issues, while supporting team members. In addition to supporting Gardners’ UK operations, you will contribute to the delivery of managed IT services across our international subsidiaries.
This role is fully office based, candidates should be within a one hour commuting distance from the Eastbourne offices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, support, and secure on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure systems.
* Provide advanced technical support across desktops, and IT hardware.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
* Supporting Microsoft IIS, SCCM, Exchange servers and M365.
* Active Directory and Group Policy
* PowerShell scripting
* Support other TLG businesses as needed, both remotely and on-site.
* Participate in out-of-hours support and maintenance activities as required.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good ability to learn new technical knowledge.
* Full Driving Licence.
* Able to work through tasks to completion within agreed timescales and standards.
Essential Skills
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Microsoft operating systems, up to and including Windows 11 & Server operating systems.
* Ethernet Networking including Layer 2/3 Switches,
* VLAN’s, NIC’s, Wireless Networking. (802.11b/g/n)
* Minimum 3 years I.T. Support experience, including
* Working knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, AD, AZURE and M365
* VMWare Virtualisation technologies.
* PowerShell scripting.
Desirable:
1. Cybersecurity principles and tools
2. Linux configuration and operation.
3. Client Infrastructure support.
4. Network routing, firewalling, VLAN, and basic network infrastructure such as switches and wireless products.
5. VMWare vSphere / vCenter Knowledge and Day-to-Day Use.
