Secondary QTS Tutor
Are you a nurturing, patient, and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting students who are disengaged from mainstream education?
Opportunity
We are seeking dedicated QTS Tutors to support disengaged students in the Newcastle area. The role involves supporting young people on a 1-1 or small group basis who are not currently accessing full time education. Sessions will take place face to face in a community setting such as a youth centre, family hub or community centre.
Your role with us
 * Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths and English, supporting with GCSE and Functional Skills Entry level 3, Level 1 or Level 2.
 * Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
 * Monitor student progress.
 * Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students re-build their confidence in learning.
 * Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
Role details
 * Pay rate up to GBP30 per hour depending on qualification and/or experience.
 * Up to 6 hours per week per student.
 * Start date: September 2025.
 * Location: Newcastle upon Tyne.
 * Duration: ongoing, with the aim to reintegrate the student back into mainstream education.
 * Access to our Resource Hub, which includes learning materials.
 * Access to CPD accredited courses and training.
To be eligible for the QTS Tutor role you need
 * Previous experience working with young people with SEND such as ADHD, SEMH and students who have been permanently excluded – this role is great for those with previous experience within a PRU.
 * QTS or QTLS qualification.
 * Hold the right to work in the UK.
 * Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
 * Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment.
