Responsibilities
Description of Role
Role Responsibilities
* Working as part of the BAU team on a fixed shift rota after 18:00
* Installation of cabling requests (copper and fibre following HSBC protocols)
* Attending to IN’s and faults
* Administering client IT systems to ensure procedures are followed
* Liaising with clients and their customers to ensure timely delivery and communication of works
* Arranging and attending change records when required
* Providing on-call cover
* Carrying out cable recovery in all areas
* Installation and connectivity of network equipment
* Work location may be SYGDC or WGDC (Tankersley / Wakefield)
* Own vehicle and travel between sites required
Cabling Installations
* Assisting cabling infrastructure teams
* Receiving and checking deliveries
Qualifications
Required knowledge, skills, and experience include:
* Experience in data centre environments
* Experience with structured cabling systems (manufacture accreditations advantageous)
* Network equipment connectivity and installation experience
* Knowledge of data centre platforms (I-Series, Z-Series, SAN, etc.)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
* Health and Safety awareness (ECS, SSSTS, or IOSH certification advantageous)
