These two rural schools are situated in a beautiful area of Carmarthenshire, close to the border of Pembrokeshire. They are newly federated schools, with a clear vision and a strong community ethos.

As Governors we are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Headteacher to lead a committed and enthusiastic team of teachers and staff. Applications are invited from candidates who have a vision to further build and develop the Federation, offering incredible experiences to staff and pupils.

  • Your strategic vision to build on the existing strengths of both schools and take full advantage of our newly federated status.
  • Your ability to set and maintain high expectations of pupils' progress, attainment and behaviour, whilst ensuring that the wellbeing of staff and pupils is at the heart of all planning.
  • Your ability to inspire, motivate and enthuse the whole school community with the confidence to set and work towards ambitious goals, stretching our capabilities.
  • Your enthusiasm to seek and create new opportunities for our pupils, both within and outside the classroom, drawing on your own experience, expertise, and skills to develop a rich and broad offering in line with the principles of the Curriculum for Wales.
  • Your strong and inclusive vision and commitment to Welshness, the Welsh language and culture, in keeping with the current ethos of both schools and the local community.
  • Your integrity, creativity, resilience, and warmth as a teacher, leader, mentor, team member, and part of our community.

Qualifications

Applicants applying for their first Headteacher appointment must hold the NPQH. We are happy to consider applicants who are on the current cohort of the Aspiring Headteachers programme.

Applicants must be able to communicate fluently in Welsh (Level 5).

Successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
