Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, coupled with excellent leadership and team management skills. Responsibilities
* Assist in the management of kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and coordinating food production.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high-quality standards are met consistently.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety practices.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Ensure all dishes are presented beautifully and meet the restaurant's standards before serving.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment, demonstrating strong culinary skills.
* Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent cooking skills with a passion for food preparation and presentation.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* A background in hospitality is preferred, along with experience in menu development.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when required.
