Responsibilities:
* Conduct research and development activities in the field of material science, with a focus on novel materials and their applications.
* Design, execute, and analyse experiments to evaluate material properties, performance, and manufacturing processes.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and manufacturing, to integrate new materials into existing and future products.
* Develop and optimise material synthesis and processing techniques.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of research findings, experimental procedures, and technical specifications.
* Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to disseminate research results.
* Stay informed of the latest advancements in material science and related fields, and identify opportunities for innovation.
* Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company through patents and trade secrets.
Requirements:
* Ph.D. or Master's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in research and development, preferably in an industrial setting.
* Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of material characterisation techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, mechanical testing).
* Experience with various material processing methods.
* Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
* Experience with advanced materials such as nanomaterials, composites, or smart materials.
* Familiarity with intellectual property processes and patent application.
* Experience with simulation and modelling tools for material behaviour.
