We are looking for a friendly and caring individual to join our team. You will already be a Healthcare Assistant, ideally working in general practice with experience of EMIS.
This is a varied role where the successful candidate will be given training and support to enable them to carry out their role successfully.
This role is full-time Monday - Friday.

At Showell Park Health Centre, we have over 7,000 patients and are also part of Wolverhampton North Network PCN.
We have 5 GPs, a Practice Nurse, an HCA and an admin team.
We have an amazing team. We are friendly, approachable and helpful, especially to new members.
Job responsibilities
* Support Doctors and Nurses in implementing individualised care and therapy programmes for patients.
* Respond to patient queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors to the surgery.
* Support the GP(s) smooth running of clinics by performing routine administration and clinical tasks on behalf of the GP, freeing up their time to focus on the patient.
* Sort all clinical post and prioritise for the GP in terms of actions, signposting some post to others such as clinical pharmacist.
* Extract all information from clinical letters that needs coding and add it to notes.
* Arrange appointments, referrals, tests and follow‑up appointments of patients.
* Complete basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign, such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms etc.
* Explain treatment procedures to patients.
* Help the GP liaise with outside agencies, e.g. getting an on‑call doctor on the phone to ask advice or arrange admission while the GP can continue with their consultation(s).
* Support the GP with immunisations and wound care.
* Venepuncture.
* Blood pressure recording.
* Administer influenza, pneumococcal, shingles and B12 vaccines.
* Collect specimens as directed (urinalysis, etc.).
* Height and weight measurement.
* 24‑hour blood pressure monitoring.
* Spirometry, peak flow measurements and nebulising.
* Perform and record ECG.
* Basic wound care including two‑layer bandaging.
* Removal of sutures and clips.
* Assistance in the minor operating suite.
* Clinical fridge maintenance & cold chain.
* Smoking cessation and other health promotion activities.
* Assist in routine child health surveillance.
* Assist in chronic disease clinics, including monitoring inhaler technique and foot pulses.
* Perform NHS health checks and new patient checks.
* Support delivery of clinical quality & outcomes framework and PCF.
* Answer the telephone, receive and transmit messages.
* File and register forms.
* Arrange patient appointments.
* Support the practice with infection control.
* Liaise with other health care professionals.
* Order equipment and other supplies.
* File and keep records as necessary.
* Order, monitor and manage clinical supplies.
* Ensure clinical supplies are replaced/rotated across all clinical rooms.
* Support other health care professionals in various chronic disease management clinics.
* Any clinical tasks deemed appropriate and supported by individual training.
* Record appropriate information in patient‑held records, clinic records and the practice computer system to comply with legal and professional requirements.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Manage stock itinerary for the practice.
* Comply with all appropriate practice policies, clinical practices and protocols, health and safety fire regulations, and report accidents/incidents to relevant colleagues as soon as practical.
Qualifications
* GCSE (or equivalent) grade A‑C in English and Maths.
* Qualified to NVQ level 2‑3 in Health and Social Care.
* Have worked within a Primary Care setting.
* Have worked on EMIS.
Experience
* Experience of working within a nursing team.
* Experience working in a GP practice.
