The BHFT CYPIT service is an integrated Children's Therapy service, structured around the needs of the child and family. It operates within integrated teams based in Berkshire, working collaboratively to maximize therapeutic impact through direct intervention or support.
In this role, you will manage your own caseload and interventions across early years and school-aged children, working within an impact-based support model. You will also develop your specialist skills in working with children and young people (CYP) with occupational therapy needs.
Main duties of the job
* Conduct specialist clinical assessments and treatments for children and young people (CYPF), including those with complex presentations, and support less experienced clinicians.
* Contribute to the development of service provision within your specialty, ensuring best practices are followed.
* Possess highly developed specialist knowledge in paediatric occupational therapy, including developing or maintaining expertise in a specific clinical area.
* Act as a point of reference and support for colleagues and managers in your area of specialization.
* Lead the development of other therapists through support, mentoring, training, and defining core competencies.
* Undertake clinical audits and research as required within your specialist area.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional qualification, such as a degree/diploma with postgraduate specialist training, experience, and short courses.
* HCPC Registration.
* Current knowledge of occupational therapy interventions relevant to children and young people.
Experience
* Understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people.
Travel
* Valid car driver license and willingness to work across Berkshire as needed.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
